The Day

We have tried to make the day run smoothly and interestingly with as few “situations” as possible.  You will notice that timing schedule listed below has specific TIMES for certain things to happen.  Over the years, we have modified it so that now it is “fairly” accurate.  Please be available when it suggests so that the “little 5 minute” losses do not multiply into “annoying delays”.  All of us want you to have a SUPER DAY and to enjoy curling with your friends and new friends!

Rules and Guidelines for Curling

  1. Curlers

We want everyone to have a great day.
  2. Teams will be identified by their “Team Contact Person” and shall have members with any combination of age and gender.
  3. All CCA Rules of Curling for General Play apply.
  4. For Game 1, your opponent will be drawn by lot at registration. For Game 2, your opponent will be drawn by lot based on your win/loss record from Game 1.
  5. For each draw, points will be awarded as follows:
    1. 40 points for a Win (20 per team for a tie).
    2. 4 points for Each End Won (2 per team for a blank).
    3. 1 point for Each Point Scored (to a maximum of 12).
  6. It is the responsibility of the “thirds” to give game results to the Drawmaster, to periodically check the “point’s board”, and to report any apparent discrepancies to the Drawmaster.
  7. Since this is a “Fund Raiser”, prizes, based on the accumulated Points for each draw, will be Minimized, but the glory will be Maximized!!!

Blue sheet Items - close at 3:00 p.m.

Pink sheet Items - close at 4:00 p.m.

Green sheet Items - close at 5:00 p.m.

CurlerYou do not have to be at “The Club” at closing time, but it is easier on everyone if you can pick up your items on March 24 before 8:00 p.m.    Alternate Pick up and Pay date is, Monday, March 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Club.

If you wish to donate something for the auction, contact a committee member. Then bring it to the club on FRIDAY, March 23 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  We do accept auction items on Saturday, but please use this option only as a last resort.

Skills Contest

Teams will be broken into two (2) major groups. Those with $500 pledges or more and teams with less than $500 in pledges. Your second game will be completed after your fifth end of play. Each curler will then throw one (1) rock “to the glass”. Sweeping is allowed but not by the opposing team. After your four (4) rocks are thrown a Team Total will be determined and prizes will be awarded to the Top Team in each group.
